How to Install Kodi on Fire Stick, Stream Live TV, and Install The Latest Add-Ons (Exodus, Genesis, Soundplex, Hulu Plus Lots more!)

Kodi is free, open-source software designed specifically with home entertainment in mind – and it’s perfect if you’re a fan of movies, sports, films and TV shows. Although it was originally created for the Microsoft Xbox and called Xbox Media Center (XBMC), Kodi has continued to evolve – spawning a community of its own.

Unlike services like Chromecast or Plex, Kodi is managed by the non-profit XBMC Foundation, and it’s constantly being modified and upgraded by countless of coders around the world. Since its creation in 2003, Kodi has been shaped by more than 500 software developers and more than 200 translators. That means you can now customize by installing addons or builds, and they’re totally free, too. And it’s not just for laptops; Kodi can now work on everything from a smartphone to an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

  1. Hi, do you use a VPN? If so it’d be helpful if you did a vid on how to set one up because most sources on Genesis dont work for because they’re probably blocked by my Isp. Thanks 🙂

  2. why does it ALWAYS say 720 at the bottom of the screen when you press the ok button during the movie? is there any 1080p stuff?

  3. I’m trying to get rid of cable. What device is best to use xbmc? Transport or android tv? Or should I get just a laptop? Or s5 phone?

  4. So basically all of this is Illegal right?
Really wish some people would do some how tos on legal content
some of us don’t want to jeopardize our broadband connection being cut off because our ISP is complaining about us using torrents and illegal file hosting sites… some of us only have one broadband provider in our area and getting kicked from it means back to dialup which is basically useless today

    • I am looking for legal plugins for Kodi and other software like that.. it seems all the developers want to promote illegal file sites and torrents.. I can not use something like that because there is only one Broadband provider in my area and if they kill my account I will be on Dialup… It is not worth the risk.. but there is lots of free and good content out there if only people would develop for it.. Hulu Free is now available on Android and someone really should make that for Kodi that is a lot of content .. and then there is LiveStream that hosts hundreds of local TV News shows around the country.. but there is no good LiveStream plugin for kodi .. and there are many more like that.. I can see people spending time on TorrentCasters for people who just dont care… but it shouldn’t be at the total loss of any legal content plugins.

    • +Zippy TheChicken problem is the content owners need to play ball
Example Stargate SG-1 used to be in its entirety on Hulu, their contract eventually expired, MGN decided they didn’t want people to stream it anymore, and didn’t renew it (probably some one higher up wanting to push people to dvd sales)

Netflix you’ll notice the same problem on some shows you can only watch if you do the mail rental service, or simply don’t appears, its probably not because netflix didn’t want to offer them (after all the more content you can find on there the more reasons customers have to keep paying) but rather the content owners can decide they want more money then the streaming service is willing to pay or simply that don’t want people to conveniently watch it in some kind of petty hopes for dvd sales

And then there is also some content that is without a clear legal owner or a completely uninterested owner of an IP they bought up years ago

I know The Simpsons decided to not release any more DVDs and that includes 2 prior seasons so it seems that companies are moving away from physical media..

I strongly suggest you and everyone get a TV Card and start recording shows and movies that are on Antenna or on Cable TV ..

I have been recording shows for a couple years now and use Win7 Media Center and a plugin called MCEBuddy that is free… it strips all the commercials 90% of the time :o) and then reduces the file size dramatically while letting you control the quality you can live with.

you can compile a serious amount tv shows and once you have them on your computer you can feed them to your TVs

I still have Comcast basic and SyFy is now locked up along with most of the better basic cable stations with Copy Once Protection…

But my local TV Station plays SG1 on the weekends.. I record that and for other really popular shows like King of Queens that is on maybe 4 different stations every day I should be able to capture the entire series in about 4 months just by letting Windows Media Center record all the reruns.. Its pretty amazing.. I have a lot of shows recorded that way..

that saves me bandwidth and any possible alert from my ISP on Data Caps.. it also means I control my content.. My DVR is not part of Comcast .. I don’t have to continue my Comcast account if i want to watch all the episodes I have recorded.. and If i move to a place that has Verizon or TWC i still have all my content.. and I don’t have to pay a membership or anything .. want to watch 200 episodes of Gilmore Girls .. no problem just cue the files ..

Its not as good as HD off a blueray .. but then again all I pay for is the cost of my hard drive.

Seriously everyone needs to do this get a TV Capture Card .. $15 on Ebay for a USB or PCIe card .. hook it up and let it just run and run and run and record everything.. maybe you don’t love one show but you will watch it.. then record it.. just record everything you can except stuff you really really don’t like like DWTS heh you will be surprised how much stuff you can record that is good enough to watch and then when there is nothing on .. watch it..
